Trail running in the Swiss alps

Trail running in the Swiss Alps means that you are going to run in a high alpine region. You will run on technical paths and there will be sometimes steep ascents and descents with quite a lot of altitude gain.

We will run through forests but mainly the trails go over rocky paths with sometimes loose stones. A lot of typical mountain villages are situated quite high, so you will start high as well. Routes can take us up to over 3000m so you may feel the affects of the high altitude. Acclimatization before is not necessary but can be helpful.

Especially at the beginning of the season, June, you can still find some snow on the trails. But in fact it is possible to snow in the Alps every month of the year and especially the snow on the high passes can stay there a long time. Alpine weather can change very quickly.
